Mobile Food Vendors

With the growing popularity in food truck vending. The safety of you and our residents is important. In order to operate in the City of Vineland, you will need to complete a Vendor Permit Application (Click Here for a copy) and return it to our office located at 625 E. Plum Street Vineland NJ 08360, prior to operating your unit. Please bring your mobile food truck or trucks with you upon submitting the application Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am and be prepared for a fire safety inspection. Payment can be made by cash, check, or money order payable to the City of Vineland the same day.

If your vehicle prepares food using fuel fired appliances or your cooking operation produces grease laden vapors, you are required to obtain a Fire Safety Permit from the Vineland Fire Prevention Bureau as per the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code.
As per the City of Vineland you must also possess and renew this permit annually for each mobile food truck and or cart in your possession. You must also receive approvals from the Vineland Health and License and Inspections Departments.

Please Note:

The inspector will conduct a basic fire safety inspection of the unit to verify that the life safety features comply with the NJ Uniform Fire Code which you can review below. This includes but is not limited to the hood suppression system having a valid annual certification (a passing copy of the inspection report will need to be provided at time of inspection or email to fireprevention@vinelandcity.org). This is a list of what is required to pass your inspection.

  1. Properly cleaned and grease free ventilation hood system.
  2. A carbon monoxide detector (for enclosed units.
  3. A current valid Class K and a minimum of 2A:10B:C fire extinguisher(s).
  4. Must provide a passing certified fire suppression system report (if applicable).
